Agreed completely even though it seemed to make most of the flyers warts stand out less

I agree those camera angles were terrible. I don't mind them so much on the power play because it gives you a better view of what everyone else is seeing but it was nauseating watching the game from basically a drone the entire game.

I was hoping I wasn't the only one who hated it. That spinning camera is ok and sometimes cool for maybe 5-10s. After that I felt like I was going to vomit

It was that mobile overhead camera on a wire that moves and spins. It was constantly moving and you couldn't keep track of the play. I was getting sick trying to watch it.

When I first started watching the game, first thought was, yes these camera angles are goofy. Then a thought came to me, I've been following the NHL for all my life (40 years), I've seen the same camera angles over and over, why not appreciate something different. You know....try something outside the box. I rather enjoyed the game having this mindset. People just want the same old "status quo" never try anything new routine....so I get your complaining Ryan, you like a vanilla life with the same thing over and over.

I can get past the "petty" stuff of Pierre....much like I had to with this blog because it was all complaining and whining about something outside the box.

I wouldnt be so hard on traditionalist. New and different doesnt mean good. Youre my age so you must remember the glowing red puck era.

Yeah, the camera angles were bad. Between them and the Flyers' stadium jersey the game could at times be painful to look at/watch. Fortunately it ended well.

Pierre is annoying but I think he annoys the players and coaches more than TV viewers (which is saying something). Olczyk's anti-Penguin bias was much worse, though. If the Penguins scored he talked about the Flyers' defense breaking down. If the Flyers scored he talked about what a good play they made. He does this no matter who the Penguins play. I really hope he is not doing the Pens/Blackhawks game this Wednesday.

I hate announcers like that on National broadcasts...I dont mind so much if its just a regional broadcast or on the radio because I want the 'my team' perspective.

Now to actual Hockey talk. I had to listen to the game on the radio as I was on a road trip. Can anyone that watched the game elaborate on the play of Hainsey. It sounded as if he played solid.

I think he played pretty solid, nothing flashy. I also like his size. Probably get a better look during Tuesday with normal camera angles

He was alright, he was able to hold his own and was solid on the PK. once the defense gets healthy he'll be a solid 3rd pairing guy

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

News is Manning is having a hearing for his hit on Guentzel. I saw the replay of the hit and looked a bit late and a bit high. How many suspensions have resulted from infractions that refs have deemed not worthy of a penalty? Makes you wonder if it is an over reach of the Department of Player Safety, or a failure of the refs.

I thought it was an incredibly stupid hit. 5 and a game for sure. Should have been a clear penalty imo.

Yea, probably a fine. But they need to start disciplining based on the action and not the outcome. If guentzel didn't get up then manning definitely gets a suspension
